Williamnagar is a small hill town situated in the Garo Hills of Meghalaya. The town is well-known for its rich history and is situated on the bank of Simsang River. It is a popular tourist destination of the State and is inhabited by Garo, Dalus, Banais, Boros, Hajongs, Koches and Rabhas tribes. The town of Williamnagar celebrates Wangala with great pomp and show. This festival attracts a lot of tourists as it depicts the culture of the tribes residing here. The people of this place follows Songsarek religion and worships Pantugipa or Tatara Rabuga Stura Pantura. The best time to visit the place is between the months of September and May.
