India has been a developing country for a very long period of time. It is easily understood, that it is impossible for India to become a developed country as long as it has problems in sectors like health and education. The health scenario in India is very much below standard. The women section of the society is specially ignored in this case. The general health standard of women in India is extremely poor. The country still agrees to the fact that, a huge section of the female population dies out of hunger and malnutrition.
Major part of the poorer section of Indian society constitutes the women. Rural culture in Indian villages ignores the nutrition necessities of women, even when they are pregnant and need the most. The moment a girl child is born, see is regarded as a burden to the family. This makes them easy victims of several fatal diseases. The government has set up special facilities specially directed for the women section but they are seldom used or allowed to be used. Almost all the household activities are deemed to be the responsibility of the female in the house. Women in rural areas are sometimes even forced to do strenuous farm activities like weeding and transplanting. The huge amount of work load and the lack of proper food have caused the health hazards to rise among women.
The health issues of India must be solved as fast as possible to ensure proper development of the country. There are several international organizations and some NGOs’ which are working to make the picture look better. However, the government must take better planned steps to solve this problem as fast as possible. The health issue of women in India is a problem which has to be solved if India has to become a super power. Reservation for women is a way but care should be taken as to it is not misused.
