Gujarat is famous for khadi and textile or home made products. People are indulge into the home made stuff and sale out at lucrative rices to the tourists. The world famous gandhi ashram that prepare khadi clothes are very famous among tourists. The main place of work and residence of the father of the nation Mahatma Gandhi is located in Gujarat. It is on the bank of river Sabarmati in the commercial capital city of Ahmedabad.
 
Khadi was and still is famous among people around the world. Khadi was first made by the MK Gandhi when he boycotted British goods at the time of independence and motivated people to use the khadi products and clothing. Since taht time there were Ashrams which are opened and clothes are made out of this fabric. Foreigners are crazy about this cloth and material and they feel comfortable in this. You will find many ashrams of khadi in Gujarat.
