Would India become free of Corruption, this Time ?

Corruption as a phenomena is both universal and historical. It is a fact of history that there existed no society in the past in which corruption was totally absent. At the same time, corruption is practised in one way pr another in all the existing societies of the world. Corruption is one of the social evils found in all the societies but the Indian society has been completely jinxed with this. Unfortunately India is regarded as one the countries where corruption has become very much widespread during the recent years. Corruption in India had become deep-rooted and its growth is unchecked and unhindered. All those leaders who declared war against corruption have either shamelessly succumbed to corruption or miserably lost the battle. Tall claims made by political leaders to fight corruption have proved to be shallow. Power corrupts and absolute power corrupts absolutely. That is what the events at the national political scene seems to suggest, at least during the last couple of years.

Practice of corruption at the lower levels by some clerks, peons and attenders for some petty financial conditions has been highly in trend but what is more disturbing and dangerous is the corruption at the higher levels. Corruption in various forms has become the mainstream of our national polity in the recent past. It is needless to say that the evil of corruption meaning bribery and graft, is not conducive to social stability and equilibrium. It invariably involves negation or betrayal of normative values of society, which are essential for the smooth functioning of Indian society. needless to say that it is the high time to throw away the corrupted governance and corrupted administrators. With every election we become hopeful that perhaps this time we would have an honest and fair governance. Today people of India are becoming aware of their duties and responsibilities, this time we all are little bit hopeful that the change will come for sure. Being an Indian, do you think the same?
