Yecurd is populat hill station of Southern India, situated at an altitude of 1,515 metres above sea level in the Shevaroy range. It falls in the district of Salem in the state of Tamil Nadu. Yecurd is famous for the Yecurd Lake and the reserve forest which makes it a coveted destination for both adventure lovers and nature lovers. The place also has historical importance for the presence of the stone age Pagodas and monuments. Another attraction of the place is the coffee plantation and is popular for orange orchards. The forest of Yecurd consist of Teak, sandalwood and silver oaks and the forest is inhabited by bison, deer, fox, snakes and birds like bulbuls, kites and sparrows.
