The modern youth is indeed overwhelmed with the impact of western culture in their lives. Their attitudes and their choices purely depict the western impact and so it is there in their liking for western music. They love to listen to the western music and the singers. They see the western singers and musician highly talented, and find the western music as exciting, foot tapping, and that's just amazing. Especially the urban youth who are studying in big private and convent schools, and those who are working in multi-national companies/higher designation; believe that listening to the western music is the one of the demands of the present culture, since it makes them modern and classy. Listening to western music and singers has become an obsession for some of the youth since they have attached this factor to their status and prestige. They, feel to be dumb in front of their friends and colleagues if they do not share English songs and cannot name any English singer's name. Thus the liking and love for the western music is not something that has been naturally emerged among the Indian youth but it is rather something that the youth has intentionally tried to cultivate. There is nothing wrong in listening to the western music but this post intends to inform the Indian youth that the Indian music is one of the most vivid and enormous streams including multiple varieties of folk, classical, popular, filmi, rock and pop music. There are various ragas and numerous of Indian talented singers in India. being an Indian they should also listen to their own music and singers and should have the love for the same.
