Life has become so busy and stressful that we usually feel exhausted and then we ask for some peace and want to go to place where we can feel free. We want to just get rid of all that stress and tensions and want to run away to a peaceful place where we find no one to disturb us and where we can rejuvenate ourselves can meditate and introspect to get connected with our lost beings and to that supreme power that is the source of energy. India is full of beautiful places and there are many places which are serene and spiritually evoked. The impact of those places is so powerful, peaceful and wonderful that one can totally get lost in the splendid beauty and serenity of that place. A calm and soothing atmosphere is very essential in order to experience the long lost inner peace and the effect of those places is so impactful also because many people have already done and visited there who were also seeking peace and silence. Their positive and spiritual vibrations spread all over those places make them more enlightening. For meditation and yoga one certainly needs a quiet and serene place where one’s mind doesn’t get distracted and rather feels elevated by the charm and spiritual influence of the that place. Following are such best places in India for having a rejuvenating time with one’s inner self:

    •Rishikesh (Himalayas)
    •Haridwar
    •Uttarkasi (via Tehri)
    •Kankhal (near Haridwar)
    •Badri Narayan (Himalayas)
    •Devaprayag (Himalayas)
    •Gangotri (Himalayas)
    •Ayodhya
    •Mount Abu
    •Nasik
    •Varanasi
    •Brindavan (Mathura)
    •Srinagar (Kashmir)
    •Almora
    •Nainital
    •Bangalore
    •Puri
    •Dwaraka
    •Pandharpur
    •Tiruvottiyur
    •Alandi, near Poona
    •Tiruvengoi Hills, Musiri, S. India
    •Tirupathi Hills
    •Papanasam (Tirunelveli Dt.

Rishikesh and Munikireti these places are actually marvellous places to visit if one is seriously looking for inner connectivity and want to be peaceful and calm. These places have a powerful impact on the visitors that do not allow them to peep into the hustle bustle of somewhere else and help them to become calm and at peace. Near Rishikesh there is Uttarkasi, Brahmapuri, Garudachatti and Nilakanth also some spiritually elevated places. If one wants to experience the cave-life then Vasishtha Guha is a wonderful place to visit and for meditation. Mount Abu is one of the beautiful places and suitable as a peaceful place. The Maharajas of Limbdi and Alwar had built amazing caves there. Brahma-Varta near Kanpur is also a good place, Uttarakasi has a powerful spiritual atmosphere where one can find solitude. Apart from this, any place or village on the banks of Yamuna, Ganga, Godavari, Krishna, Cauveri and Tamraparni would be a good place for meditation. And among of all above mentioned places Uttrakashi, Rishikesh, Badri Narayan is highly recommended place which are exclusively suitable and good for a powerful concentration of mind and soul. Before visiting to place for meditation or Sadhana one must also look for some conveniences like medical aids, library, and availability of light food/fruits, water/milk otherwise it would be difficult to continue the meditation as basic bodily needs are also necessary to be fulfilled.

Rishikesh and haridwar are two of the best destinations for practicing meditation and learning yoga free of cost. Out of these two, Rishikesh is full of nature but Haridwar is considered as the hub of meditation centers and ashrams. According to me Saptrishi ashram is the best place to practice meditation.
