Bidar is a district in the state of Karnataka and is well-known for its rich history as well as for Bidri handicraft products. The district has 2 river basins of Godavari and Krishna. The Godavari basin is formed by the merging of River Manjra River and its tributary Karanja. The district of Bidar is known as the historic district of the state as it was the first Rashtrakuta capital, Mayurkhandi. Bidar was ruled by several rulers from time to time and this is evident from the historical monuments present here. Bidar Fort is the most famous fort in India as it is the largest one and this district is a perfect heritage destination of India. Tombs of Bahmani Ruler, Mohamad Gawan Madarsa, etc are some of the major attractions of the place.
