The economy of Kerala is tremendously based on marine and agriculture products. It has the highest rate of literacy within India. It has an efficient system of public transport. About 70% of output of coconut is provided by the state of Kerala.

Kerala though a small state is economically sound as it relies on agriculture, fishery, and public service for its economy. Also a part of share is contributed by the keralites who live in Gulf countries. The crops like Rice, Coconuts, wheat, cashews, and plants like rubber, cinnamon, vanilla etc contribute largely to the economy of kerala.
