Eluru is a small town of the Godavari district in the State of Andhra Pradesh. The town is well-known for the largest fresh water lake in India and this is a major attraction of the tourists. The town of Eluru is an adobe of many avian species and is an ideal destination for birdwatchers. Reef heron, open bill stork, grey-heron, painted stork and egret are some of the birds that are to be seen in this town. The major attractions of this place are Kolleru Lake, Kolleru Bird Sanctuary, Kalaparru and Hanuman Junction, rock cut caves of Guntupalli, Sri Kanaka Durga temple, Sanivarapupeta Galigopuram, Sri Allhasingarappa Swami temple, Sri Adhimahalakshmi Amavari temple and the Ambica Devi temple.
