India- One of Fastest Growing Telecom Industry

Indian Telecom Industry is 3rd fastest growing and largest in world with 861.48 million connections by April 2011. According to COAI GSM cellular subscribers base reached 590.19 million in May 2011, and total 826.93 million wireless subscribers including CDMA and GSM exists in India at April 2011 end.
 
Indian Telecom Industry Not Just Confined To Telephones:

Indian Telecom-Industry is no more confined to just basic telephones, but extended to internet broadband(both fixed and wireless), SMS, IPTV, cable TV etc. Government Broadband Policy 2004 had target of creating 9 million broadband connections cum 18 million internet connections in 2007. Broadband subscriptions reached 12.01 million by April 2011.
 
This shows that India is going to become a potential user of Telecommunication services just like any other developed country. Companies are striving hard to make products available to every class of people. Even people are finding loads of services to access for cheaper prices and this is leading to substantial growth in the telecom industry.
 
Telecommunication industry in India is at boom right now. With the introduction of 3G telecom is growing very fast. Not only it emerges as one of the largest employment providing sector but also many other businesses to grow as well.
 
India's Telecom Industry has grown and progressed remarkably and is the 3rd largest Telecom industry after USA and China. Moreover, India's telecom industry has become one of the major contributor to Indian economy after the IT industry and employees a lot of people. Coming of 4G technology has given a new dimension to the growth and development of India's Telecom Industry.
