Despite its strategic location, India is unable make complete use of the opportunity it has, that it could build strong a foothold in the Indian Ocean Region. India is considering to strengthen its coastal security by enhancing the coastal security networks and by induction of interceptor crafts. India has also recently installed Coastal Radar Network Chains in Gujarat and Maharashtra province. It should further induct/deploy warships and aircraft carriers to strengthen up the coastal security.
