Indian Culture in Danger in Modern India

India is the Greatest country and Indian culture is one of the richest cultures in the world. It is one of the oldest forms and has held its heritage and flavor right from its birth to the present day. India is well known for its culture and its various diversities in Indian culture. Though Indian culture is rich and great it was bound to undergo reforms and changes. Nothing stays permanent everything changes with time and so did the Indian culture change with time. As time went by slowly the Indian culture kept losing its heritage and richness. Reforms and changes came in. a tough of the western culture also influenced the Indians. Indian culture lost its richness. It was tried immensely to restore some rigidness in the culture but that was not to be.

The rich Indian culture has finally crumbled. Its rigidness has finally given way to globalization, modernization and urbanization. A few decades back drinking and smoking was considered as ill behavior and today it has become a general trend in the youth. The modern India is no more under its rich culture.

Modern India is completely under the influence of western culture. Starting from the dressing habits, food habits to the education all has changed. People are no longer interested in learning Sanskrit but are eager to learn languages like English, French and Spanish. Indian culture is under the threat of extinction. If steps are not taken to restore back the rigidity and heritage of Indian culture then soon there could be no existence of Indian culture. Indian culture is in danger in modern India, and if not taken care of the Indian culture could soon give way to the western culture leading to the loss of the rich Indian culture.

Indian culture is in danger since years and not now. The western culture is eating up the roots of the indian culture and it is quite evident these days. The influence of western culture over indian culture is easily seen on the children and this is the only reason of their premature nature.

Indian culture is now limited to small cities or some part of metro cities like Kolkata and Hyderabad. For rest, US culture is the India's culture (though limited to music, dressing, talking, false attitude only). They are not following the positive scent of US culture.

Due to the over powering of westernized culture indian culture is losing its roots and becoming more like a modern culture. In fact there is no denying the fact that indian culture is vanishing slowly and westernization is taking heights in indian. People are more inclined towards following western culture rather than concentrating and following indian culture. I am very much agree from rekha gupta..

@LeadIndia: What do we need in today's life? Modernization! Right? So what is wrong in that if people are adapting the western culture over indian culture? They are following it because they like it that way! There is no need of indian culture and in fact what i have posted above is due to the reason m concerned about the indian culture as it is very rich and should not be vanished just for another culture but the reality is this that people are becoming mad after the lifestyle and culture that these countries follow. you and i cant help it though. But this is the fact!

Following western culture is not a bad thing. People working for US or UK based company need to follow western culture for a better result for their company. Also youngsters following western culture is quite okay if that is in a limit. For eg, if they wear western clothes, then that is perfectly fine. Listening western music is also okay. But if they follow the western culture blindly then that is something alarming. Don't forget in western countries parents look after their kids at the age of 18. What if Indian parents start following western culture and stop assisting their kids after 18. In India, 18 year youth is considered as kids. God helps those kids.

This is an undenying fact that Indian culture is at peril. People in India are being very much attracted to the western culture, and all of the credit goes to our media. It is the youth of this country who are mostly influenced and it is them who are responsible for bringing forth such changes in our nation. Unless the media intervenes, not any one, nor any parent, nor any teacher can change the mindsets. Do you agree?

According to me the Indian culture is in danger in Modern India because the youth are more influenced by the Western culture. They have forgotten the importance of values and traditions of our Indian culture. Moreover, due to lack of time and busy schedules, parents do not get time to teach the children about our rich culture. Parents should take out time and incorporate the values of our culture. Media is another way to let the children know about our rich culture and help them in understanding the value of our culture.

Yes our culture is in danger in Modern India and this is because of the influence of Western culture. With the beginning of modernization and globalization, the Indian culture is getting affected as people are embracing the culture of the west more and are forgetting their own culture. It is important that people should understand the importance of Indian culture and ofcourse media can play a great role in preserving our rich culture.

Yes,

It is the natural tendency of people to emulate the rich and powerful. Indians therefore are mad about anything 'phoren', or rather First world culture.

Also the media has influence that was not present before. The films, ads, programmes all are geared to ape the West and that has adversely influenced children.
