Indian Economy is Fundamentally Strong

According to our Finance minister, Mr Pranab Mukherjee, indian economy is fundamentally strong and therefore it can absorb shocks resulting from US and Eurozone slowdown. Both US and Eurozone are currently struggling from economic instability and some investors believe that this could have an impact on Indian markets. Rubbishing such views, our FM strengthened the point that our economy has good light of hope and investors can take interest in investing in Indian markets.

Can anybody give a supporting clue as to how Indian economy is fundamentally strong and why the investors shouldn't fear of Indian markets. I'm getting this doubt because recently Standards and Poor's have lowered India's grade and this has brought about repercussions from the investors end.

Indian economy is developing and it is not fundamentally strong as it is highly influenced by the economy of other nations. With the slowdown in Global economic growth, the economic growth of India has also slowed down relatively. So how can anyone say that Indian economy is fundamentally strong? It is very important to reform the economic policies of India to make it strong in reality.

Indian economy has faced many turbulence and is still facing scores of problems. If Indian economy was fundamentally strong then it should not have got affected with the economic issues faced globally. Why is there a continuous fiscal deficit and high inflation going on? In my view, a fundamentally strong economic nation should not face such turbulence. The economic growth in India as also slowed down with the slowdown of Global economic growth. Why is this so? I don't at agree that Indian economy is fundamentally strong.
