Is Internet good for children?

Internet is a type of media that seems to be growing quite fast and is used by both children and adults. As everything is available today on the internet and even children use it to a great extent. However, if it is properly monitored, it is not bad for children but if it is not, then it can influence the children negatively as every kind of information is available.

What do you think? Is Internet good for children?
 
Internet has both advantage as well as disadvantage. The use of internet is increasing day by day and even children are getting more used to internet for accessing social networking sites as well as for doing assignments. It is quite helpful but over use of it is harmful because there are even harmful and objectionable stuffs for children and it should be properly monitored.
 
Internet in my view should be restricted for the use of children as it can leave negative impact on them. It is not about monitoring but if they need any information from the internet related to their studies, parents or anyone elder can provide them with it. Many objectionable stuffs are made available on the internet and this can affect the children in many ways. So i personally do not think internet is good for children.
 
Excess use of everything is bad for everyone and similarly excess use of internet by children is also bad. In my view internet is not bad for children if used for constructive purpose. Today, since everything is available on the internet, children do use internet to collect information related to studies and also play online games for relaxation but overuse will certainly harm them in many ways.
