The people who are in the responsible positions should know that they too are answerable to someone. What has prevailed in the older system is that these people when once get the position thing they are the kings and are invincible. But it the common man of India they are serving and they need to show cause for every inconvenience created. This will definitely lessen corruption.

RTI Act has become an effective tool
Surely, RTI Act has become an effective tool in the hands of a common man to seek clarification for every act done or not done by the people in authority. People holding public offices are beware of their answerability and accountability more after the implementation of this RTI Act, moreso after the Act being actively resorted to by the people at large to set things right...

i dont think so there is any impact of RTI on corruption because corruption is increasing day by day and is as rampant as ever. even though RTI has been introduced, not many of us know about it and most of us are afraid to use it as there are cases where politicians have criminalized some people for raising their voice against them

RTI has certainly some impact on corruption as you can find out about corruption and culprit can be punished but it's only possilbe if culprit found.
well yes there seems to be a little impact of RTI on corruption, but not as much as it was expected. people are scared of using RTI against the corrupt officials as there have been news of some activist being assaulted or even killed for using RTI. india is a free country to live in as well as to practice violence.. this is what it appears from a distance.
RTI has been an efficient tool on corruption so far as it empowers the general public to ask any questions from the Government or inquire about any information, obtain copies of any governmental documents, examine any governmental documents as well as get hold of samples of materials of any Governmental work. This has created fear in the mind of the government official to engage in corruption as it may lead to dismissal from the job.
Right to Information is a tool of democracy and helps the general public to seek information concerning the government on-goings, acquire copies of any government documents, ask question to the Government as well as Government authorities concerning certain issues. Corruption is so deep rooted in our country that even RTI is not able to effectively work on it and corruption still exist everywhere.
Perhaps to a certain extend but not totally as corruption is still persistent in India. The main problem is that the judiciary which was supposed to be very strong is extremely weak and people do not approach the Judiciary because it generally fails to provide justice for a long time. People do not use RTI effectively and most often even if they use and the person accused is behind the bars, comes out without any punishment for having high-level contacts.
