Janjgir is an old town and falls in the state of Chattisgarh. The city is the nerve center of Janjgir-Champa district and is also known as the city of Maharaja Jajawalya Dev of Kulchury dynasty. The city has a rich historical account and its existence dates back to the 11th century AD. The tribal culture that exist in this city attracts a lot of tourists from all over the World. The city is also renowned for featuring an ancient temple of Lord Vishnu, which attracts a lot of devotees in and around the state. Jajwalya Dev Lok Mahotsav is a cultural event that is organized here every year, to pay homage to King Jajwalya and this as well attracts the tourists from all over the orb. Moreover, the city is famous for being the vicinity of Christian Missionary, Miss A.C Funk, who died while on the Titanic.
