Kakkabe is a small hilltop town situate in the Western Ghats in the state of Karnataka. The town is known for its mesmerizing picturesque and this beauty is further enhanced as the place is enclosed by thick forest and coffee plantations all around. The town also features some rare varieties of orchids and other plants. Kakkabe is a silhouette town of the Thadiyendamol peak. The place has rich historical background and was rule by Gangas and Chola dynasty. The Nalnad Palace is a major tourist attraction of the place and the place offers adventure opportunities for trekkers. The Padi Igguthappa temple is another major attraction and pilgrims from in and around the state visits this place for this temple. The place is well known for paintings and architecture and is popular for ancient arts.
