Kollur is a small village in Karnataka and is an important pilgrimage destination for the worshipers of Shakti. Kollur is famous for the Mookambika Temple dedicated to Goddess Parvati, the wife of Lord Shiva. The place has several mythological histories. It is among the 7 most sacred coastal region of India. Apart from being a religious destination, it also stages many adventures which attracts travelers around the World. Rock climbing and trekking are among the most prominent adventures of this place. Kollur also possesses the oldest and the deepest gold mines of India.
