Foreigners can travel to India by air or sea. There are four major international airports in India namely Bombay, Calcutta, Madras and New Delhi. Transports of various sorts are available at Airport itself that includes auto-rickshaws, buses as well as taxis. When you are traveling to india it is always advisable to take few general guidelines to avert any problem in future.
 
Where ever you go in India you will never ever going to face any problem related to mode of travels as India is the only place where you will find different traveling modes from rikshaw to motor cycle, auto rikshaw to tonga, air travel, water travel, train and by road. You will get every mode of transportation here in india. This is the place where one can go out at night as well and will get the transportation facility quite easily.
 
India offers various means of transportation ranging from Air, water, to Land. Traveling via Air is recommended for long distance travel. At the same time if one is looking to enjoy the diversity of indian cultures of different regions, traveling via Train is the best option. For local transport, one can commute via the buses, Auto-rickshaws, Manual Rickshaws, Cabs, Horse wagons, and some places offer option where one can even take bicycles or motorbikes on rental basis.
 
Which form of Indian Transportation is Safest while traveling to india? there are different modes of travel. These days nothing is safe and this has been proved with the events that are taking place everyday. You should understand that there is nothing safe but still, you should not become completely negative. There should be some faith in the country’s transportation. I guess trains, rikshaw and tonga all have its own experience that provides you fun if you are a tourist.
 
Transport in India is an important part of the nation’s economy. Since the economic liberalization of the 1990s, development of infrastructure within the country has progressed at a rapid pace and hence there is a wide variety of modes of transport by land, water and air.
 
For longer distances it s better to go by Air and for shorter distances hiring a taxi or car are the best options.

Indian trains are quite slow so its better to avoid them for long rout travel.
