Modi's fast a political stunt?

Narendra Modi has organized a 3 day fast named "sadbhavna fast" which aims to cull out all the communal disparities both in Gujarat and India. However this seems to have taken place after he got a clean chit from Supreme court in the Gujarat riots case and the opposition leaders claim it to be a political stunt. What do you think?
 
Its nothing more than a stunt to gain national news headlines. Otherwise why is he not participating in Advani's yatra. Can Modi be credited 100% for all the growth in Gujarat? In case of Modi if someone else was CM, what would have happened, people of Gujarat would have stopped working? Reliance and Essar would scrapped their plans? The growth has more to do with strategic location of Gujarat and the existing business houses. I think Modi or anybody couldn't have stopped or propelled it to beyond it is right now.
