MTNL broadband problem

Hey guys... i just got my mtnl broadband connection...its been one week now.. however the router does not stabilize (i waited for an hour)... that is, the "link" light blinks...

it worked after sometime the first day but the next day it stopped working...the hardware engineer who came for the installation said that they had done the settings and this "unstability" is because my MTNL telephone wire is very old, rusted and got many joints.. they told me to get it replaced by an electrician...

I tried almost all electricians in my area and they say that they won't touch the wires of MTNL.... now, when i call at MTNL helpdesk 1504 no one picks up the phone...

however i tried to get the number of the Area Manager of my area... she gives me another number.. the another number gives another and so on....

what should i do ? whom should i approach? whose responsibility is it to replace the wire so that internet works fine?

PS: my telephone works very fine without disturbances. maybe because telephone hardly requires some current... but there are chances of my wire being old since i got this telephone line from about 20 years.... please help me.. i have a good image of MTNL broadband in my mind and let it not be spoilt...
 
i think you should approach divisional manager of MTNL and tell him what about the dirty game played by his subordinates. it is ridiculous that government officials without any responsibility give lame answers. i had the same problem with BSNL and it got solved only by changing the telephone lines. so better get it solved as there is no alternative to it.
 
Not only you but I have faced many problem with MTNL braodband connection They do provide the cheap assess to the internet but the server is down most of the times then what is the use of even buying the cheap internet connection when the server is down and you need the internet with high speed. SOme issues actually cannot be resolved. :(
 
MTNL always give one or the other trouble. Sometimes they disconnect the phone and sometime the server is down and you cannot access the internet in both ways. The service that MTNL provide is simply useless. I would rather prefer TATA photron for the internet access, the call rates are also high.
 
MTNL is a government service and hence we cannot expect 100% from it. the service offers good speeds at cheaper price but then the speeds are not consistent all the time. during the peak hours the speed slows down which causes trouble to the users. its just that that servers are not equipped with high standard cables to take the load
 
MTNL is a government service and should be excellent enough, why we always consider if the thing is provided or launched by the government then it should take more time than the one which is readily available. If the government is providing any service then it is the duty of the government to provide uninterrupted services.
 
These kind of broadband problems are ought to happen. Instead BSNL service is better compared to that of MTNL because BSNL servicemen atleast respond to the complaint soon enough. Nevertheless the problem lies with the number of users and the load of servers. Hence unless the service provider enhances its server's capacity and quality, the connection would be the same.
 
I am using MTNL broadband internet connection but hardly face any problem in the same. One time the server is down due to the heavy rainfall but still the connection was resumed within few minutes. I think MTNL provides the best customer services when compared to any other broadband services in the nation.
 
MTNL broadband service is not very good but works fine only in some areas. The speed is too less and the server is down most often. I prefer BSNL or Aritel broadband connection rather than MTNL broadband. Nevertheless, it is less costly than other broadband connections but the service is also same as the price. It has one or the other issue every now and then.
