Omkareshwar is a famous pilgrimage destination of India, popular for having one of the 12 Jyotirlingas. The place is situated in the Khandwa District of Madhya Pradesh. It is a small island of Mandhata in the River Narmada and is one of the major religious hub of the state. The Omkareswar temple is the prime attraction of the place. Apart from being a religious destination, the place also has historical significance as the place was ruled by several rulers from time to time. The place has special and significant contribution towards the freedom movement of India against the British. The place is the perfect destination for peace lovers as it offers a pristine and tranquil environ.
