Rajnandgaon is a district of Chattisgarh and is a popular religious destination of the State. The district is well known for its rich history as it houses several historical monuments and forts. The place has several lakes and ponds and the River Sheonath and its tributaries Kharkhara, Sonbarsa, Amner, Surhi, Karra, Murkati, Sankari, Fonk and Hanf flowing through the district. The district also houses several shrines of various deities of Hindu religion and this attracts a lot of tourists and devotees from all over.
