Many Indian States have witnessed a declined rate in the birth of girl child.

Only the policy of the government to stop pre-birth sex determination cannot solve this issue. The honor and respect for a girl child must be created in our society.

There is no denying the fact that dowry is the main reason behind such serious issue in our society. To solve this problem at its root, dowry system must be abolished from our society.

Parents who can kill the foetus of girl child, why cannot gather the courage to bring up the girl child and revolt against the dowry system? We think that to revolt against dowry will require less courage than the courage (?) required for killing a girl foetus.

We are responsible for our own problems. Before harassing a girl for dowry, people don’t think that what will happen to their own daughter if somebody else behaves like this. It’s the time to stand up against the dowry system to save the girl child. But the problem is that only the parents who have more girl child will stand up against this problem. The parents with more male children will refuse to join this revolt. And again the issue of girl child comes here.

Join the movement to spread awareness about saving the girl child.We have to take some really firm steps to save the girl child.Write in your views, experiences or even efforts related to the issue.
 
I born as a boy child and had three elder sisters to me. I have seen special favor treatment to me during my child hood. Not only in my family but, I have observed the same treatment to most boy child in almost all the family. Girl child is uninvited or unwanted and boy child is bliss of GOD. This feeling is so deeply routed in every Indian, including most Indian women. Undue favour to the boy child is done mainly from mother. There is a need to change the mind set of Indian women first.

Esha, I presume, you are a girl and must have experienced, what I am telling you here. You see, when a boy child is born good quality of sweets are distributed, but when a girl child is born, no sweet or inferior quality of sweet is distributed. In all our Hindi feature films, it is depicted that a birth of a boy child is something great, and a birth of a girl child is not an occasion to celebrate. Also look at our scriptures and you will find the same massage in every story. Honestly, you reply to your self to this question. “Given a chance, what will you select? A Boy child or a Girl child?

I have two sons, both are recently married and when I asked my daughter in laws, about their choice of the first child and both replied, "Boy Child". We need to change this mindset, which is deeply routed in Indian women. If you still have doubts, you may visit or contact some temples authority and ask them about the women prayers to the God. Out of 100 at least 90% women demand boy child. Why?

The rout cause of killing girl child is not only dowry, but the mind set of most Indians. In several community dowry is abolished, due to fear of law. But killing girl child in womb is stopped. Several women think that, male enjoy superiority because they earn money, hence they feel that women should also earn. Women should also become similar to men. But due to this new idea, many women are doing double duties and loaded with lots of stress. While copying men, they are loosing their identity as women and that is now reflecting on their body. Their body is loosing the grace of a woman and converting to men. See their dress preferences, their walking style, talking style, and many things. You will find manly behavior. This is ridiculous. I believe women should remain women with all her grace and beauty. Woman should not be destroyed either in womb or in the outer world. Women are the most precious gift from the God. Men can not be without women and women can not be without men. That is the truth. Women must get her glory and divinity.

i think its our moral responsibility to fight against it....
awareness should be spread all over about this..... and those who make such a crime should be sentenced to jail ... at least for a year....
may be this will make them realize about their wrong deeds .....:mad:
 
do you know that the girl child is much preferred on account of her devotion to the fathers family and health?
 
I am also against the dowry system.It spread like a dangerous disease in the society.it is the main reason behind the killing of girl child in India.we have to fight against it.
 
Girl child must be saved.. she is not only a creater of the nation but also the support to the family.. Killing of girl child is a sin which can not be forgiven..
 
Girls are very important for family.. Girls can do anything in life and they are not dependent on others.. they have now become dependent.. So, parents should undersatnd this thing and must save a girl child..
 
Girl child is always neglected

It is a foolish act on my part to differentiate between the girl and the boy. Today’s girl and boy are tomorrow’s women and men. But there are instances where the girls are neglected, attacked , harassed in different ways. The pregnant women have to go through that they have to give birth of the male child. There are many examination are conducted to determine the sex of the baby in the mother’s womb. Even after the birth the girl child is neglected :confused:, they fail to get the proper right, education, food to develop. This must not be tolerated : both the girl and the boy have equal right and freedom to the society.

For getting a better civilized society we should be aware of the importance of the girl child and treat the same with utmost respect. :cool:Tragically, the core Indian society is not so. A girl child is seen with an eye of contempt by most in the rural Indian setup. Awareness should be spread as to what nuisance they are creating.
 
Yes, both genders are equally important. Gradually, with awareness, better literacy rate, media coverage, campaigns, etc the overall condition is changing.

According to 2001 census the number of females per 1000 males were 934 (1000 : 927 in 1991 census). I think this number will rise upto around 945 females per 1000 males in India.
 
Only women can find solution of womens problem, as long as mother-in -law keep forcing her daughter in law for male heir no campaign or government action could bring fruit. Run campaign and Create awareness among people first.
 
I totally agree that we have to save and Protect the Girl Child. In India Girls are always treated as secondary or an Ornamental Object. They don't have right to choose and always forced to follow other. Condition is really bad !!
 
Saving a girl child:A crucial decision for a better tomorrow

This is really true that saving a girl child is not just a question of today but this is a very crucial decision on which our future and our tomorrow depend. Just give it a thought what will happen if there would be no girl to marry your son? How will your generation grow? Who will follow your family’s name to the next generation?

Worried? :( This is just a starting of the list but if you have started understanding the importance's of a girl child with this only then come let’s join hands to save all girl children thereby making our next generation safer than ever.:)
 
the girl child should not be dropped out from the womb just for some irrational thinking. girls are as important as boys and they are precious gift from god. people think it wrong that having a boy baby is better than girl. this disturbs the gender ratio too. girls play as important role as boys in our society so fetus killings should be stopped.
 
Girls are indeed important for the family. They are the pillar of any house and if girl is not there then home will not be a home. girls are the makers of the whole world. they give birth, rule the house and bring up the new generations. Killing girl child is a biggest sin that has no forgiveness. God does not forgive such people who kill girl child just to have a baby boy. not even government spare such people. it is against law.
 
It is a common saying and tradition that girl child are considered as a burden on the family whereas a boy child is considered as a king of the family and the one who will take the name, fame and prestige of the family so far that a girl cannot do. Still people celebrate like anything on the birth of boy and they simply remain mournful when any one in the house gives birth to a female child. many people kill their girl child as they think she is the burden on the family. they use age old techniques to kill the child. We should complaint about such issues to the police in case we see such things happening. Save the girl child.
 
Let us save the girl child and join the mission against the foeticide and tell people that girls are equally important like boys. The infanticide is taking great height in indian culture and it must be stopped in each sense. The number of girls are reducing day by day. If you go and check in any classroom you will find the ratio of girls vs boys very low.
 
The ratio of girl child in comparison to boy child is decreasing at a rapid speed. People are killing the female child inside the womb through various abortion techniques. They forget that the child they are killing is their own blood and woudl have boom like a flower if given a chance to survive. But to get a male boy heir they forget everything and get abortion once they come to know that the child is a girl. This is a crime by law and must be stopped.
