Government has proposed to introduce quota system in promotions in government jobs. The Scheduled castes and Scheduled tribes would be entitled to this privilege. However this idea of quota is challenged by the Supreme court on the grounds fundamental right to equality, in which it says the introduction of quotas in promotion would violate the fundamental right to equality. Do you think there should be a quota system in promotions too? Or should there prevail a fair chance of promotion equally amongst all the classes of people? Throw in your views!

Quota system has spoiled the whole country. By taking jobs under quota system the workers have become lazy and his/her immediate superior does not care to touch him if he is not a SC or ST as he will be branded as anti?.... The system it self is to be scrapped. 65 yrs over. One generation has gone. By this reservation we are facing brain drain . People are going out of the country and settling there itself. These settlers by and large does not have patriiotism. Any show of things are lip sympathy. I. Hate reservations.
The Quota system or the reservation system in my view should be completely abolished as it is creating division among the people of the nation. It should never be applied in case of promotions and the promotions should be totally given on the basis of qualification and capability. It also violates article 15 of the Constitution of India which prohibits discrimination on the the basis of religion, race, caste, sex or place of birth.
Quota system should be completely abolished from the society. This was introduced in order to empower and give equal status to the backward classes of the society. However, it have become a curse for the nation. Everyone in India today gets equal opportunity and equal status so there is no need to such a system that is creating a wall of hatred between the people of the nation and by introducing quota system in promotion of government jobs, will worsen the situation. Promotions should be on the basis of qualification, experience and capability and not on the basis of caste.
Quota system is like a stain in the pure and great nation that boast on Unity in diversity. It has already created a lot of discrimination and hatred among the people of the nation for its existence in the education system and government jobs. Extending quota system to promotion of government jobs will create a havoc in the whole society and will not be good for the nation as a whole.
In my view, Quota system should be abolished completely instead of extending it to promotions in government jobs. The Quota system was introduced in order to uplift the backward class of our society and today the caste system have been to a great extent reduced and people have become quite liberal but the existence of the Quota system is creating a difference between the people, so it is important to remove it completely.
