Indian women are still to go a long way to gain the equal status as that of men in our society. Nevertheless, women have achieved a lot in recent years and have been successful in their ventures. For women to gain equal status, our society needs to change and the patriarchy that exist in our society should be uprooted and there should be no such thing present in any society. Moreover, boys should be taught to respect women since childhood and by doing these, Indian women can enjoy the status in the society.
The status of Indian women was very high during the ancient times but in the medieval period, the status of women was lowered to a great extent and they were confined within the four walls of the house, which was mainly because of the male dominance that started increasing in our society. However, it has been rightly said that history repeats itself and women in our society are regaining their status today. They have achieved a lot in the recent times and this proves that women are heading towards gaining equal status in the society.

History has shown the glorious past of Indian women; where they were the leaders in all aspects whether educational, war skills, morals. In the modern scenario, that history has started repeating itself in multidirectional way. The ladies of today, are not behind of any men in any terms, let that be educational, research, war skills, social, economic or political. The increased awareness and help in women empowerment has actually made Indian women empowered in all manner. The case of an Indian girl being given the freedom to choose her own life partner, says a lot about her advancement and dominancy in this existing patriarchal society. But again, this advancement and development among women of India has not reached to every women yet. This fury has to go on until every single woman in India is enlightened with the power of self-stance.
