One of the prominent historical destinations of India is the city of Hyderabad, which is situated in Andhra Pradesh. Well-known for pearls, the city is thronged by visitors from all over the World to get a glimpse of the rich heritage and the glorious past. Also known as the “City of Nawabs” and situated on the verge of Musi River, Hyderabad houses several historical monuments that attract the tourists. The city is also famous for serving an array of Indian and Mughlai cuisine, especially for Hydrabadi Biriyani and Kababs. Besides these, there are many travel places in the city for india tarvellers that are worth visiting. Some of these attractions are:

Charminar

Built in the year 1591 by Mohammed Quli Qutb Shah, the founder of Hyderabad is the charm of the city. This monument is an architectural marvel that has lured the visitors since several years. The Charminar features four charming minarets that ascend to a height of 48.7 m above the ground and it is so big that there are 45 prayer spaces with a mosque inside it. This beautiful monument is worth visiting.

Golconda Fort

Another historical monument that is housed by the city is Golconda Fort. Formerly a mud fort that was established by the Kakatiya Kings of Warangal during the 13th century, Golconda Fort has attained glory under the Qutub Shahi dynasty (1518 to 1687). This fort is famous for housing the famous Kohinoor Diamond that was taken from India by the British. The Golconda ford is thronged by visitors to witness the magnificent past of the city. This amazing fort offers sound & light show in the evenings that narrates the saga of this fort and enchants the visitors. This monument is a must-visit place in Hyderabad.

Salar Jung Museum

Salar Jung Museum is one of the most popular places of Hyderabad, which is visited by the tourists from all over the Worls. This museum famous for housing one of the biggest one-man collections of antiques of the world, Mir Yousuf Ali Khan. Named after Mir Yousuf Ali Khan, also known as Salar Jung III, this museum displays Moghal miniatures, Japanese lacquerware, eminent statues that include the Veiled Rebecca and Marguerite and Mephistopheles, Chinese porcelain, Persian carpets, an excellent collection of daggers, swords and jade that belonged to the Emperors Jahangir , Shah Jahan and Aurangzeb as well as of Queen Noor Jahan besides many other marvelous objects.

Hussainsagar Lake

Exhumed by Hussain Shah Wali during the time of Ibrahim Quli Qutb Shah in 1562 A.D, the Hussainsagar Lake has a esplanade that remains busy all day. This lake is a prominent attraction of Hyderabad and offers opportunities for water sports and boating. The Lake houses one of the World’s tallest colossal statues of the Buddha that is built on the ‘Rock of Gibraltar’, in the middle of the lake. The Lake is surrounded by many other attractions that charms the visitors to the place, which include Necklace Road, Lumbini Park, NTR Gardens, Sanjeevaiah Park, Prasads Multiplex, Tank Bund, etc.,
 
Hyderabad was historically known as a pearl and diamond trading centre, and it continues to be known as the city of pearls. Many of the city's traditional bazaars, including laad bazaar, begum bazaar and sultan bazaar, have remained open for centuries. The best place to chill out in Hyderabad are-

Hussiansagar: A large statue of the Gautama Buddha, erected in 1992, stands on Gibraltar Rock in the middle of the lake. It also separates Hyderabad from its twin city Secunderabad.

Birla Temple: Apart from the main shrine, the consorts of Lord Venkateswara, Padmavati and Andal are housed in separate shrines.

NTR garden: It is adjacent to hussainsagar. It is close to other tourist attractions such as Birla Mandir, Necklace Road and Lumbini Park.

Some other place to visit in Hyderabad are Golconda fort, Charminar, Ramoji filmcity.
