Kurukshetra is mostly known to several Indians as being the battleground for the Pandavas and the Kauravas in the epic tale and poem, The Mahabharata. Kurukshetra is located in the region of the Haryana and it is often considered to be the tourist spots for those people who come from the northern regions or from the western regions. Not very famous to the people of the south and the east, Kurukshetra and yet never failed to attract sufficient amount of tourists to rock the tourism business for the locals staying over there.

As you may know Kurukshetra is often considered to be the holy land for the Hindus since it was there where the benevolent Lord Krishna along with Pandavas fought and defeated the belligerent Kauravas, thus winning the great battle of Mahabharata. Hence, most of the places in Kurukshetra are filled with either museums and archeological sites or temples. However, one should not get disappointed, as most of the places of interests here in kurukshetra would not add to the monotony of your daily life.

I would recommend the tourist to pay a visit to the Bhadrakali temple, which is considered to be one of the most holy temple and shrine in entire Haryana. It is believed that the Pandavas performed rituals and paid their respect to the Great Goddess Kali before going for the final battle against the Kauravas. His temple has always been one of the major attractions for most of the tourist and swarms of tourist from all over India come here to have glimpse of this temple of which they had only heard in stories. Hence, this temple is considered to be extremely holy for the Hindus. The temple has numerous stone carvings and inside it and is surrounding by lush green forest. It is a beautiful place to visit with you and your family.

The Brahma sarovar is also one of the most visited places in Kurukshetra and several tourist come to visit this place right after their visit to the Bhadra kali temple. This place also has a popular historical background and this lake dates back in the 11th century when it was created. One can easily visit this place with their family and friends and spend a nice time together in complete clear and pristine atmosphere, away from the city life. This lake is just a few miles away from the main city and is completely connected to all modes of transport. It is a believed that a dip in the water of this lake would remove all your sins that you had done in your lifetime

the true devotees of Lord Krisna will feel like heaven when they will visit the Krishna Museum of Kurukshetra. the personality of the lord is depicted in the museum as per described in Mahabharata and Bhagwad gita. many types of artistic pieces like carvings, paintings, stone cavings depict the life of god krsna.
