Tuberculosis, or more commonly TB, is an communicable bacterial disease caused by Mycobacterium tuberculosis, which usually affects the lungs. It is a fatal communicable disease transmitted by means of droplets from the throat and lungs of people with the active respiratory disease. The symptoms of active TB of the lung are coughing, occasionally with sputum or blood, chest pains, weakness, weight loss, fever and night sweats. Tuberculosis is treatable with a six-month course of antibiotics. It is quite common in India and over 4 lakhs person dies every year cause TB. It is important to recognize the symptoms and get it treated at an early stage.
