Verawal is a port town and is popular because before the Surat Port was opened, Verawal served as a main port for departure to holy journey to Mecca. The town is well-known for its beautiful beaches as well as hosts several holy places. The town has a rich historical and mythological past and finds its mention in the Great Indian Epic Mahabharata. Some of the tourist attractions of this place are Prabhas Patan, Gita Mandir, Junagadh Gate, Panch Pandav Gufa, Bhaluka Tirtha, Kamnath Mahadev Temple, Lakshminarayan Temple etc.
