Verna is a popular tourist destination of Goa and is well known for its beautiful beaches. The place is renowned for Padre Conceicao College of Engineering, also referred to as (PCCE), which is one of the premium institutes of the state and students from various places in and around the state comes to this college for education. Verna is also the gateway to several tourists destination and beaches of Goa and some of the beaches include Majorda Beach, Velsao Beach, Candolim Beach and Sinquerim Beach and these attracts the tourists from various parts of the globe and makes it a popular tourist destination.

Verna is a village in Salcete, Goa, adjacent to the village of Nagoa. It is located approximately 10 km north of the South Goa district headquarters Margão, 18 km south-east of Vasco da Gama and 23 km south-east of the state capital Panjim.
