What is the reality about Goa?

I have heard that Goa is the place where you will find cheap drinks around the nation and the business of prostitution is at its height in goa.. Hwo far is it true. I find Goa very beautiful but I am afraid that people will make a fool of you and will take you to the different world altogether.. :O
 
Yes, it is true that you will get free drinks and almost drinks at very less rates but this is not true that goa is the place where people will fool around you. You can be fooled anywhere if you are tend to. But this is the beautiful place and people come her et relax and enjoy. SO all these things are myth, you just go Goa to have fun!
 
well i dont think that this is completely true. liquor may be cheaply available but then the place is very good to tour. there are bad things everywhere and in my view it all depends on us how we carry ourselves and refrain from such things. goa is an amazing place to visit and it has its own beauty which people admire.

I completely agree with your views. In fact there is no place where all these things don't happen. Rare people come to know about these things in small areas but that does exists and at a large scale. Goa is an amazing place to visit and one can have fun with family and friends at its max.
 
Which place is left ideal to visit or does not have any problem as people have mentioned above. Goa is a very beautiful place to relax and to go on a vacation. Well everywhere in India you will find prostitution and other issues but Goa is such a place, which is mostly visited by those who are bored with their regular common life. Therefore such kind of activities is quite common. Liquor is very cheap in Goa that's for sure.
 
Goa the supposedly hippest and safest place for tourists in India. In 2008, Scarlet Keeling, a 15 year old British teenager was raped and suffocated on Anjuna Beach in Goa. The matter is still pending in court. I think this is the truth about india and any other place. It will be wrong to say that these cases happens in Goa only. Many tourists places are there in india which have to go through all these incidents. Still we can try to make the place better.
 
@economists: these incidents have now become common at almost every place. it is not only the reality of Goa but other places as well. people have become thirsty of lust because of the impact of the western culture they are forgetting their own traditional values. Goa is a safe place but the security of yours is in your hand and no matter how much security government provides to the foreigners or local people such cases tends to happen if you are not aware of what is happening around you or who is making fool out of you.
 
Apart from the issues that happens every now and then there is a shopping destination in india that would be fun to do and explore the market in Goa! Flea markets are quite popular in Goa! Indian people love to bargain. Wherever you go, a flea market is sure to be available. Tourist spots like Goa, Rajasthan, and Himachal Pradesh all have their own fair share of flea markets that you must check out.
