When will Hockey get a fame like cricket?

Hockey is our national game and when will this game will get recognition? I am just wondering that when a game like cricket which is originated in england got so much of recognition around the world then why not hockey?

I think this wouldn't be possible unless the media does something about this. We Indians are most influenced by the media and celebrities. If hockey is given the fame and name, the youth would start concentrating on this sport. Atleast media should try to bring out the beautiful historic wins of Indian hockey team which is far more richer than cricket.

It is sad that the National game of India has lost all its glory and fame. It can regain it only if Government take steps in encouraging people to join the sports and more over the contribution of media is equally important to glorify the sport. Government should provide facility to the players to encourage them to play the game.

Hockey will get fame like cricket when Government will give importance to the game. Since hockey does not have fame and money like cricket, people do not take much interest in playing the game. However, Media should take initiative in promoting hockey and making it as popular as cricket. Moreover, Government should provide proper amenities and encourage the youth to play the game.
