How to Ace the Semester

0

As this semester comes to an end, some of you might be a little disappointed with how it has turned out. The six months always pass too quickly, end too soon and while the familiar dread of exams take over we’re left feeling like we did not do enough. While college doesn’t have to be all work, it doesn’t have to pass by in an unmemorable daze either, and there are a few things you can try out to make sure you feel like you’ve achieved something, at the end of the semester.

  1. Get some work experience!

A new semester is the perfect time to start an internship. There are plenty of part time options for students and the benefits are worth the effort. You can choose an in-office internship to spend some time with new people in a new space, after classes or a virtual internship, so you can work in the comfort of your room. It isn’t too hard to find a paid internship and cash coming in at the end of the month will definitely be a motivating factor. At the end of the semester, you would have collected a whole new group of friends and potential future employer, and some great skills in your relevant field of study!

  1. Explore the other side of college

Even if you missed joining a society at the beginning, you can be a part of a lot of fun college events. Fests, departmental programmes and events are always being organised and they’re often seeking helping hands as volunteers. Sign up with your friends and you might end up managing a whole lot of responsibilities and have a certificate at the end to prove it.

  1. Keep the marks in check

Nothing could be worse than that discomforting feeling in your chest, right before exams start, when you know you are completely unprepared. Apart from attending classes, don’t leave note making and collecting material for the very end. Start working a couple of months in advance and by the time exam season rolls around, you’ll be all geared up with the essential study material, keeping the stress at bay.

  1. Try not to be a bunking addict

We’ve all been through it. We miss a couple of classes, then a couple more, and soon enough, we have no idea what is going on in class and we end up skipping all classes. Don’t be that person, and keep your attendance in check. Not only does it contribute to your marks, it also makes a significant impact on your professor when they see you as a regular student. If you find it hard to keep a track of classes, download a cool attendance manager app. These will keep you from missing too many classes and are pretty fun to use!

Lastly, make sure you don’t miss out on making some memories with your friends. Go out, meet new people, explore new places and don’t leave any opportunity to make these years any less than straight up awesome. At the end of the semester, you’ll have plenty of good moments to think back upon, and plenty of achievements to flaunt!
